Graded VG 3 by PSA, with Autograph Certified and graded GEM MT 10 by PSA/DNA (43822536). Rookie Card. Among a total of only 14 examples of this piece recorded in PSA/DNA's census reporting, only four copies have achieved a higher tier. Brazilian icon Pelé appears on this historic and attractive 1958 Editora Aquarela LTDA. rookie card. Already one of the legend's most seminal introductory pieces, the offered example is elevated to a new level of prestige through the application of Pelé's distinct, flowing, blue ink autograph. Pelé scored twice in the 1958 FIFA World Cup final, a 5-2 win over host nation Sweden, and was the only teenager to score in a World Cup final until France's Kylian Mbappé repeated the feat in 2018. Pelé stars in a yellow Brazil kit with a verdant green collar in front of a blue-sky background on this gorgeous soccer collectible. This depiction, capturing the great forward just as he was beginning to be recognized as one of his nation's most popular figures, was part of a much-desired issue from the star's native Brazil. This example boasts a central portrait of the legendary Seleção attacker that is uncommonly clear for South American soccer collectibles of this era. The cardfront surface appears fresh and clean, while the blemish-free reverse side—proudly and distinctly displaying its blue #10 card number—displays none of the frustrating discoloration that afflicts the many specimens of this card that were once adhered in collector's albums. This is an important Pelé collectible, brimming with vitality and visual appeal, as well as a splendid example of the icon's signature. Sadly, Pelé passed away in Dec. 2022 at the age of 82.
